What materials are used for dry lining?
Standard drylining materials in Gillingham:
- 12.5mm plasterboard (most common) — to BS EN 520, Type A (standard), Type H (moisture-resistant), Type F (fire), Type D (impact), Type I (sound) - 15mm plasterboard — for higher impact resistance and acoustic performance - 9.5mm plasterboard — for ceilings and curved surfaces - 19mm plank — for floors and high-impact walls - Insulated plasterboard — PIR/phenolic/EPS bonded to plasterboard for thermal upgrades - Metal stud and track — galvanised steel, 50-150mm widths, to BS 7364 - Drywall adhesive — gypsum-based, factory-premixed - Jointing compound — ready-mix or powder - Scrim tape — for joint reinforcement - Corner beads — galvanised or PVC for external corners
We typically source from Travis Perkins Medway, CCF Medway, or Selco Gillingham, with next-day delivery on most items. For fire-rated and acoustic systems we use British Gypsum or Knauf branded systems (GypLyner, GypWall, ShaftWall, Silent Floor) to maintain the manufacturer's tested performance.
